Toronto - Toronto Argonauts QB Trevor Harris has been named the CFL's Top Performer of the Week following his effort in the Argonauts' season opening win over Edmonton on Saturday.
Harris, who started his second career CFL game, completed 24-of-27 passing attempts for a league-leading 347 yards and three touchdowns in the Argonauts 26-11 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The fourth-year quarterback solidified his place in Argonauts history on Saturday afternoon as he recorded the second-best single-game completion percentage (88.9%) ever for the Double Blue.
In two career starts, Harris has gone 50-of-63 passing (79.4%) for 628 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception.
Harris earned the recognition along with Calgary WR Jeff Fuller and Winnipeg QB Drew Willy. The three players were chosen by a panel of judges including former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
The Toronto Argonauts travel to Regina this weekend to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, July 5 at 3:30 p.m. ET (TSN, ESPN 3, TSN Radio 1050).
