While on a 5-on-3 power play, the Lumberjacks evened the score 1-to-1 from a goal by Ben Strinden at 19:38 of the second period. Phil Tresca and Jack Williams earned assists on Strinden's eighth lamplighter of the season.

After two periods of play, both teams skated to a 1-to-1 tie leading into the second intermission.

Just 53 seconds into the third period, Phil Tresca popped home his eighth goal of the season while on the power play to move Muskegon up by a goal. Jack Williams and Gavin McCarthy picked up assists to make it a 2-to-1 lead for the Lumberjacks.

Tresca would add another at 4:07 of the third period to increase the Muskegon lead to 3-to-1 on the power play. Jack Williams and Quinn Hutson each scored assists on the play.

At 8:28, Tresca would complete the natural hat trick with his 10th goal of the season to give the Lumberjacks the 4-to-1 lead. Jack Williams and Tyler Hotson picked up assists on Tresca's first hat trick of the season.

Less than a minute later, Ben Strinden would pot his second goal of the game to make it a 5-to-1 lead in favor of Muskegon. Strinden's ninth of the year was unassisted.
