Trenton, NJ - Trenton's Luke Murton singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday, sending the Akron Aeros out of town with a 4-3 loss at Waterfront Park.

Murton's single to right center off Bryan Price allowed the Thunder (24-20) to gain a split in the four-game series with the Aeros (28-16). Murton drove home pinch-runner Jose Pirela, who came in to run for Cody Johnson after Johnson led off the ninth inning with a double off Aeros righthander Toru Murata (0-1).

The ninth-inning rally completed a comeback for Trenton after the Aeros led 3-0, through five innings. The Thunder rallied in the sixth for three runs on a pair of homers off Akron starter Giovanni Soto. Addison Maruszak hit a solo shot, and Johnson chipped in with a two-run homer, his league-leading 12th of the year, to tie the game at 3-3.

Soto struck out nine in seven innings, matching his season-high. He gave up four hits and only the three runs in the sixth.

The Aeros loaded the bases in the third, but could only muster one run on a sacrifice fly from Ryan Rohlinger to take a 1-0 lead against one-time Indians phenom Adam Miller. In the fourth, Davis Stoneburner grounded a two-run double down the left field line for a 3-0 lead. Stoneburner finished 3-3 on the night, with a pair of doubles.

Miller worked into the fifth, and was lifted after throwing 64 pitches. It was just his second start since 2008, after missing over two years with ligament trouble in his right middle finger. Ryan Flannery (1-1) picked up the final four outs to pick up the win for Trenton.

The Aeros will continue the road trip on Friday night as they begin a four-game series at Erie at 7:05. LHP T.J. McFarland (8-1, 1.79) will oppose Erie LHP Ramon Garcia (2-3, 5.52). Following the series with the SeaWolves, the Aeros will return to Canal Park on Tuesday, May 29th. All Aeros games are broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com.
