
Trent Miner Named WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for a Second Time in October

Vancouver, B.C. - For the second time this month, Vancouver Giants goaltender Trent Miner (2001 - Brandon, MB) has been named the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 21st.
Miner appeared in two games this week for the Giants and turned aside 59 of the 62 shots he faced as he helped the Giants earn three of four available points in his starts. Saturday night in Langley, Miner surrendered one goal against in the first period before stopping 18 shots in a row from Portland before the overtime winner. Despite the overtime loss he was named the game's first star. Then yesterday Miner stopped 28 of 29 Kelowna Rocket shots in a 3-1 Giants victory. It was the Giants third game in a span of three days and their seventh game in a 10-day span.
For the season, Miner is 3-0-1-0 with one shutout, a WHL-leading 1.24 goals-against-average and a league-best .958 save percentage. In 13 career WHL appearances, Miner has compiled a record of 6-4-1-0 with a 3.18 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage. Earlier this month he was ranked as a 'C' prospect on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary Players to Watch List. Miner also earned WHL and CHL Goaltender of the Week honours for the week ending October 7th.
Trent Miner was originally selected 20th overall by the Giants in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
