Trembley wins 1200th career minor league game as Baysox shutout Binghamton, 9-0

Baysox Manager Dave Trembley earned his 1200th win as a Minor League Manager as Dave Crouthers worked six scoreless innings for the Bowie Baysox, who shutout the Binghamton Mets, 9-0, in an Eastern League game Friday night.

Already leading 2-0, Bowie (47-40) plated six runs against the Mets (50-37) in the top of the eighth inning with Whiteside supplying a key two-run single to left field. Whiteside finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI and scored a run.

Crouthers (6-4) surrendered just two hits and struck out nine in six scoreless innings to earn the victory. Bowie's Lance Burkhart went 2-for-5 with two RBI and scored two runs.

Losing pitcher Neal Musser (9-4) was touched for two runs on three hits in seven innings before giving way to reliever Jose Diaz, who was torched for six runs on two hits and two walks in 2/3rds of an inning.

The Baysox and Mets will play the second of a four game series tomorrow night at 7:05 pm. LHP Brian Forystek will take the mound for the Baysox against LHP Neal Musser.

NOTES: LHP Scott Rice was added to the Southern Division All-Star roster taking the number of Baysox to a team record seven...While the Baysox are on the field at Binghamton tonight Allen Iverson and friends will be playing the Allen Iverson Celebrity Softball Classic at Prince George's Stadium.
