
Trejo's Trio of Runs Caps Yard Goats Victory

HARTFORD - Alan Trejo's two-run homer and RBI-single helped lift the Hartford Yard Goats to a 3-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Sunday afternoon, before 5,459 at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Ashton Goudeau picked up his first win and reliever Logan Cozart retired all six batters he faced, as Hartford (4-7) took three-of-four from New Hampshire. The four-game weekend series attracted 22,297, the best start at the gate for the Yard Goats in their three seasons at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
Goudeau (1-1) pitched six innings and allowed one run on six hits. He did not issue any walks and struck out three. Scott Griggs permitted a run in the seventh, before Cozart slammed the door with two perfect innings for his first save.
New Hampshire (4-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Kacy Clemons, the son of former big league pitcher Roger Clemens. The Yard Goats tied it in the third inning on Trejo's RBI-single then took the lead for good in the fifth inning on his home run down the left field line. Scott Burcham had opened the frame with a single.
In addition to Trejo, Colton Welker added three hits for the Yard Goats.
The Yard Goats open a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels Monday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. LHP Jack Wynkoop gets the nod on the mound for Hartford, while Richmond will start right hander Brandon Beachy. The game will be broadcast on News Radio 1410AM, on 100.9 FM, in Spanish on 1120AM and on the Internet on newsradio1410.iheart.com and on MiLB.com.
