Wichita, KS - A pair of five-run innings propelled the Wichita Wind Surge to a 12-4 win over the Arkansas Travelers in the opening game of a six game series on Tuesday night. The Wind Surge jumped to the early lead with a five spot in the second inning and the Travs never got closer than three runs the rest of the way. Arkansas starter Kyle Tyler was tagged for six runs in four innings. Wichita put the game away with five runs in the seventh inning.
Moments That Mattered
* Alerick Soulaire hit a three-run double to put Wichita on the board in the second inning. They scored twice more later in the frame on a sacrifice fly that plated runners from both third and second base.
* Spencer Packard was called out on a close play at the plate to end the top of the seventh inning that would have pulled the Travs within two. Wichita then responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame.

* Tulsa lost to NW Arkansas so the Travs and Drillers remain tied for first in the division with five game to play in the first half.
