WICHITA, KS - The Wind Surge out hit the Travelers eleven hits to eight but failed to capitalize on the opportunities and took a 5-1 loss. Arkansas tied the series up one game to one. 12 men were left on base by the Surge and they were one for nine with runners in scoring position.

In the bottom of the first Yunior Severino hit a ground ball to the Travs second baseman that got through and allowed DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to score on the fielding error. Severino earned an RBI on the only scoring play for Wichita in the evening.

Arkansas took the lead in the top of third when Jonatan Clase hit a triple down the first base line that drove in two runs. Two more runs were added when Isiah Gilliam hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth. Gilliam hit another solo home run in the top of the ninth.

Wind Surge starting pitcher Pierson Ohl made his home field debut tonight and got his third start of the season. He pitched five and two thirds innings, struck out three batters, and gave up three runs on four hits. He took the loss for the Surge.

Shawn Semple was the starting pitcher for the Travelers. He pitched five innings, gave up one run on nine hits and recorded five strikeouts.

The Wichita Wind Surge fall to 28-36 and the Arkansas Travelers improve their record to 41-24.

NOTES: Yunior Severino extends his hitting streak to 11 games and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. extends his to 12 games in a row. Aaron Sabato has now reached base in 16 consecutive games.
