Arkansas Travelers News Release

Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas - Jose Duarte sent the first pitch he saw in the third inning over the right-field fence for his 10th home run of the season and gave the NW Arkansas Naturals (39-26, 72-63) a 1-0 lead. One run was all Julio Pimentel (7-12) needed as he cruised through 7.1 innings and holding the Arkansas Travelers (24-41, 60-75) scoreless on five base hits.

Pimentel turned in his best start of the season for a Naturals team that is close to reaching the postseason. With the win, the Nats trimmed their magic number to clinch the division to three. They are up one game over the Springfield Cardinals with five games remaining but own the tiebreaker.

Pimentel got into very little trouble all game, with no Traveler reaching even third base. When he did allow a baserunner or two, Pimentel was able to pitch around it, coaxing two double plays.

The Travs hit into three double plays on the night and stranded four runners, all at second base.

Gilbert de la Vara worked the final 1.2 innings to pick up his second save of the year.

Adam Morrissey was the only batter able to do much against Pimentel, collecting a single, a double and a walk to go 2-for-2.

Bobby Mosebach (9-12) deserved much better than his 12th loss of the season and his fourth consecutive, pitching seven strong innings and holding the Nats to three runs.

Mosebach permitted a one-out triple in the fourth inning to Cory Aldridge who scored on Ed Lucas' sac fly to make it a 2-0 game. He then surrendered a lead-off triple in the seventh to Lucas before Brian McFall drove him in with a sac fly of his own for a 3-0 lead.

Mosebach has not recorded a win since defeating Tulsa on July 27.

Yosandy Ibanez and Fernando Rodriguez each worked a scoreless inning in relief of Mosebach.

Time of game was 2:17 and paid attendance was 3,910.

Boxscore

The Travelers are set to face the Naturals Thursday night with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10. The gates to the park will open at 6:10. RHP Dan Denham (9-10, 4.60 ERA) will be on the mound for the Travs. Starting for the Nats will be Kyle Crist (4-1, 4.10 ERA).
