Travs 2009 Promotions Announced

The Arkansas Travelers have finalized their promotional schedule for the 2009 season at Dickey-Stephens Park. For their 70 home games in North Little Rock, the Travs have 26 giveaways on the docket plus four fireworks nights amongst many entertainment acts.
Popular giveaways such as beach towels, baseball cards and kids jerseys return but in 2009 the Travs are introducing new giveaways such as a Travs schedule pen on April 23, flip-flops on June 5, a set of custom Travs poker playing cards on June 16, Travs tape measures on July 24 and Los Angeles Angels salsa bowls on June 14.
The Travs will be celebrating their 2008 Texas League championship all season long with a string of giveaways including championship caps on April 24, championship trophy replicas on April 25, t-shirts on May 9 and pennants on June 4.
Three former Travs who have gone to stardom in the Majors will be honored with giveaway items such as Mike Napoli replica jerseys on June 19 followed by a Bobby Jenks bobblehead doll on July 25 and a Howie Kendrick replica t-shirt on August 21.
Fans will also want to circle August 22 on their calendar as the Travs will feature a special giveaway honoring Ray Winder Field, their home from 1932 through 2006. For the first time in franchise history, a replica of a Ray Winder Field original green wooden chair will be the giveaway.
Four post-game fireworks shows are scheduled including the big downtown celebrations on May 24 and July 4. Midget Wrestling returns as L'il Kato and Beautiful Bobby battle during two pre-game shows on May 8 and August 7. The Travs will also welcome the famous Zooperstars for their first visit to Dickey-Stephens Park on July 17 and the Amazing Christopher on June 6.
Kids are a big part of the season at Dickey-Stephens Park, and in 2009 the Travs feature plenty of kids promotions. Along with two kids replica jersey t-shirt giveaways, there's kids gloves and lunchbox giveaways planned. For the eighth year, the Travs and the Jim Elder Good Sport Fund are banding together to present three free pre-game Sunday kids clinics on April 26, June 7 and August 9. As always kids run the bases after every Friday and Sunday game.
The often-imitated but never fully duplicated Clunker Car Night is back with a used car given away every single inning on August 20. Hunters and chameleons will want to be first in line for the Travs camouflage cap giveaway on July 18.
Twice during the season the Travs will invite fans to dig on the infield for a big prize; June 4 is the Men's Remote Control Dig where a lucky fan will win a flat panel TV and July 16th is the Ladies Diamond Dig.
Added to the promotional list for 2009 is a series of five post-game concerts sprinkled throughout the season.

Opening Day for the 2009 season at Dickey-Stephens Park is April 9.
