Round Rock Express News Release

The Arkansas Travelers bunched run together early in game one and then late in game two to sweep a doubleheader from the Round Rock Express, 9-5 and 12-3.

The Travelers spent little time in getting their offense going in game one, scoring all of their runs in the first three innings. Jake Weber, who went 4 for 4, drov in runs in all three innings to stake Arkansas to a 9-0 lead. Round Rock made the game closer by putting five runs on the board in the middle innings, lead by Michael Rosamond. He continued a scorching July with a a 3 for 4 day and drove in two runs.

It was the exact opposite in game two, though. Arkansas scored a total of ten runs in the fifth and sixth innings to erase four and a half innings of solid ball by Round Rock.

The Express overcame a 2-0 deficit in the fifth after Chris Burke and Tommy Whiteman drove home runs in the fourth to take 3-2 lead. However, a two-run double by Brian Specht elminated that lead. A bases loaded triple by Specht the next inning put the game out of reach.

The four-game series will conclude Monday at 7:10 p.m. after an day off on Sunday.
