SHOOTOUT UNSUCCESS
Wednesday was the 5th shootout that the Trashers participated in this season, with a record of 2-3. The goaltending has stopped 29 of 36 shootout attempts, which is currently the best in the league, but the skaters have scored only six shootout goals in 29 attempts and are ranked last in shootout goals for.
DREW SCORES-TRASHERS WIN
Drew Omicioli's goal scoring streak has coincided with the Trashers current 6-0-1 unbeaten stretch. The West Warwick, RI native has a goal in seven straight games, including two game-winning goals.
COMEBACK KIDS
Coming from behind has become old hat to the Trashers, who currently hold an amazing 4-5-1 record when trailing after two periods. No other team in the UHL has more than two wins this season when trailing after the second period. Danbury was just 2-25-2 when trailing after two periods last season.
OMICIOLI SPELLS GAME-WINNER
Drew and Mike Omicioli have scored the game-winning goal in seven of the Trashers 14 wins this season. Drew is currently second in the league with five game-winners, one behind Muskegon's David Wrigley. The brothers have also combined for 17 points on eight goals in their last five games.
TEDDY BEAR TOSS
All fans are invited to bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the Danbury Ice Arena for Friday night's game, and throw them onto the ice following the Trashers' first goal of the night. All of the toys will be collected off of the ice and distributed to the Danbury PAL Explorers, who will distribute them to needy children this holiday season. Anyone who attends the game without a teddy bear or stuffed animal to throw onto the ice may purchase a stuffed Scrappy beanie toy, which will be available for sale at the Danbury Ice Arena at the Team Shop and on the concourse.
HOLIDAY SHOPPING FIESTA
The Danbury Trashers Team Shop is also open daily for holiday shopping and is featuring a number of new items for the holiday season. The shop is open daily from 10am - 5pm and stays open until 8pm on Wednesday's and until the end of the game on game nights. Some of the hot items in the store include a pre-sale for a Trashers fleece blanket and Trashers Under Armor winter jackets. TICKETS ON SALE
Tickets for all Trashers home games are available at DanburyTrashers.com, in person at the Danbury Ice Arena or by calling 866-565-PUCK. Fans unable to attend any Trashers game can listen to the play-by-play with "The Voice of the Trashers" Phil Giubileo starting at 7:15 on AM 940 ESPN Radio or online at DanburyTrashers.com for free.
