UHL teams with children's hospital for 2006 UHL All-Star Classic

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) is proud to announce that it is teaming up with St. Louis Children's Hospital for the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic. The Missouri River Otters will host the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic on Wednesday, January 25th at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.

"We are thrilled to have St. Louis Children's Hospital involved with this event," stated Richard Brosal, UHL President/CEO. "Children's Hospital makes a great impact on the lives of so many people and the UHL wants to contribute to their positive programs and services. The UHL All-Star Classic is a showcase for our league and will definitely be an entertaining night, but it will also benefit a very special organization."

UHL All-Star players and coaches will visit Children's Hospital on Tuesday, January 24th, giving them an opportunity to tour the facility and spend time with some of the patients at the hospital. Prior to the All-Star game on Wednesday, January 25th, a special game will take place between St. Louis Blues Alumni and a UHL Commissioner's Team comprised of UHL coaches and alumni. Each player in this game will wear a Children's Hospital patch on their limited edition jerseys. These game worn jerseys will then be auctioned following the event with the proceeds going to Children's Hospital programs.

"So much of what we do depends on support from our community. This support is what helps make Children's Hospital one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in America."

Founded in 1879, St. Louis Children's Hospital is one of the premier children's hospitals in the United States. It serves not just the children of St. Louis, but children across the world. The hospital provides a full range of pediatric services to the St. Louis metropolitan area and a primary service region covering six states. As the pediatric teaching hospital for Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Children's Hospital offers nationally recognized programs for physician training and research.

"The UHL All-Star Classic will display the best players in this league, plus it will give something back to an organization that is a big part of this local community," stated Frank Buonomo, Missouri River Otters General Manager. "We are excited to host this event and look forward to giving fans the chance to enjoy such a spectacular experience."

The United Hockey League is celebrating its 15th season. The league is comprised of 14 Member Clubs competing in seven states. The Missouri River Otters are in their seventh season in the UHL and play their home games at the beautiful Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
