Trashers forward Drew Omicioli named UHL Player of the Week

DANBURY, CT --- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced on Monday that Danbury Trashers forward Drew Omicioli has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 26, 2006.

Drew completed the week with six points on three goals and a +3 rating in two games played. He netted two goals and added an assist in Friday's 6-3 victory vs. Richmond. His second goal was the game-winner, his 7th this season and a new franchise single-season mark. On Saturday he scored three points on one goal in a 5-2 win vs. Adirondack. It was his third consecutive multi-point game. The 26-year-old native of West Warwick, Rhode Island leads the Trashers with 31 goals this season, which is also fifth overall in the UHL.

Danbury returns to the ice on Wednesday at 7:00pm against Muskegon on Best Buy Night.
