
Trappers Defeat Zephyrs, 6-5

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Edwards Guzman hit a game-winning single to propel the Edmonton Trappers past the New Orleans Zephyrs, 6-5 on Wednesday Night in Edmonton.
After a double and an intentional walk to open the inning, Guzman ripped a one-out base hit down the left field line to drive home the go-ahead run. Guzman, who finished with four hits, also tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. With the win last night Edmonton snapped a six game losing streak.
Colin Porter had three hits, including a run-scoring single, and Raul Chavez gave New Orleans a 5-4 lead with an RBI double in the top of the seventh inning. Miguel Saladin (3-4) surrendered a run and two hits in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Zephyrs, who had their winning streak halted at three games. Greg Miller made his first start of the season for the Zephyrs after being promoted from Class AA Round Rock on Wednesday, pitching five innings allowing two earned runs on six hits.
