Metairie, LA â The Houston Astros have designated infielder Tripp Cromer for assignment. The Astros have 10 days to trade Cromer, release him or reassign him to the minor leagues, provided he clears waivers.
Cromer batted .250 (1x4) with a triple and RBI in three games for Houston after his contract was purchased from New Orleans on Saturday May 24th. He batted .284 (27x95) with 13 RBI in 29 games for the Zephyrs this season.
The Zephyrs continue a four game series with the Edmonton Trappers on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. the Game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs calling the action.
