
Training Camp Opens Friday

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that Training Camp for the 2004 - 2005 season begins this Friday, October 8th with the team's first on-ice session beginning at 4:15 p.m. at the Ice Forum in Duluth.
The Gladiators also released a Training Camp Roster today which included 7 defensemen, 9 forwards and two goaltenders. Six of the 18 players finished last season with the Gladiators.
One of three new faces on the Gladiators Training Camp roster is defenseman Kevin Harris. The rookie out of Regina University tallied 7 goals and 5 assists for 12 points in 37 collegiate games last season.
The Gladiators have also signed forward Andy Howard as well as goaltender Ravi Tanna to player tryouts. Tanna recorded his first professional win last season in the Gladiators second exhibition game against the Augusta Lynx. A complete training camp roster follows this release.
Forward Wes Fox, who agreed to terms with the Gladiators over the summer, is no longer on the roster. The Wayazata, Minnesota native accepted a non hockey job in New York City.
The team will take to the ice two times a day beginning Saturday, October 9th running through Thursday, October 14th. All practices for the first week of training camp will be held at the Ice Forum in Duluth and are open to the public. A complete Training Camp Ice Schedule follows this release.
The Gladiators' will play a pair of exhibition games against the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Friday, October 15th and Saturday October 16th in Pensacola. Both games will begin at 8 p.m. eastern as the team prepares for the regular season opener on Friday, October 22nd in Augusta.
The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators begin their second season on the road October 22nd, before hosting in-state rival Augusta on Friday, October 29th at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
