IceGators Announce Training Camp Schedule

Lafayette, LA â Louisiana IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon today announced the training camp schedule for 2004 pre-season. Players will meet at the Cajundome for physicals this Saturday morning, October 9, starting at 11am. Prior to physicals, the team will be greeting fans at the box office for the opening day of individual game ticket sales. The IceGators will return to the "Frozen Swamp" for the first practice on Sunday, October 10 at 10am.
For the first week of training camp, the IceGators will have two a day practices at the Cajundome. Morning practice will be from 10am to12am, Monday through Thursday. Afternoon practices will begin at 2:30pm and run until approximately 4pm. On Friday, October 15, the IceGators will have one morning session beginning at 10am. Louisiana will finish the first week of camp with an exhibition game against the Texas Widcatters, Saturday October 16 at 6pm in Beaumont.
"Training camp is going to be very competitive this year," said Gordon. "With only 12 days before the start of the season, it's very important to get the players on the same page systematically as well as get everyone into game shape."
As the team gets ready for Opening Night 2004, the scene will shift to the Hockeyplex in Carencro for week two of training camp. The IceGators will have morning only sessions the week of October 18-21 beginning at 10am.
