Asheville Tourists News Release

Following a routine scoreless first inning, the Tourists bombarded the weary 2005 champions, batting around the order in the second, third, and fourth innings, scoring an amazing 20 runs!

It was a "death of a thousand cuts" for the home crowd, as Asheville hammered nine singles, six doubles, a triple and two home runs, also drawing four walks, also taking advantage of three wild pitches in the three innings too.

The Intimidators did get on the board in the third inning, a lead off home run by Juan Camacho, and home pitcher Brian Omogrosso did settle the ship, keeping the Tourists from scoring any more runs in the next three innings. They added a second run later on, but Chris Nelson crossd home plate in the eighth to stifle any chance of a rally to make the final score 21-2.

Alan Johnson takes the win for the Tourists, pitching six innings, allowing only three hits and the one home run. In a night of outstanding hitting, Dexter Fowler ended the game three for six, only a home run away from the cycle, bringing home five RBI's.
