(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) A two-run double by Michael Ramirez capped a three-run ninth inning rally as the Asheville Tourists took a 7-6 walk-off win over the Lexington Legends Thursday night.

The Legends held a 6-4 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. Max White drew a leadoff walk, moved to second on a single by Rosell Herrera, and scored on a single by Francisco Sosa to cut the Legends' lead to one run at 6-5. Derek Jones bunted for a hit, loading the bases with no outs. Cory Hall relieved Clayton Schulz and retired Jason Stolz on a pop fly to second and then struck out Dillon Thomas, but Ramirez hit a grounder inside the third base line to score Herrera and Sosa with the tying and winning runs.

The Legends had built an early 6-1 lead, helped by a two-run homer by Mark Donato in the first inning and another two-run shot by Cam Gallagher in the third. But Asheville scored single runs in the fourth, seventh and eighth to set up the comeback in the ninth.

Andrew Brown (2-0) got the win in relief for Asheville. Schulz (1-2), who entered the game in the eighth inning, took the loss.

The second game of the four-game series will be played Friday night at McCormick Field in Asheville. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
