Bismarck Bobcats News Release

For the second night in a row, the Bismarck Bobcats lose a game in which their work ethic could not be questioned. The Bobcats (5-6-1, 11 points) lost to the Owatonna Express (4-6-0, 8 points) 1-0 with the only goal scored by Express winger Stephen Carew.

Carew's goal came just 3 minutes and 30 seconds into the opening period. He entered the zone on left-wing going around a Bismarck defenseman and moved in front of the net making a great move putting it past Bobcats goalie Matt Grogan. Grogan played a solid game with 22 saves and was sharp after he allowed the one goal. David Bosner had the night off after playing the night before against the North Iowa Outlaws.

It was the second night in row that the Bobcats ran into ahot goalie, as Adam Buegler pitched a 25 save shutout for the Express and was unyielding when second chance opportunities came his way. The Bobcats struggled capitalizing on any rebounds that came off Buegler in front of the net.

Also, it was the second game in a row that the Bobcats outshot their opponent and were on the attack for most of the game.

The Bobcats were 0-6 on the powerplay against Owatonna, but did create some chances with the man-advantage. On the other hand, the Bobcats did not allow a powerplay goal against Owatonna, as the Express went 0-3 on the night. The Bobcats killed off all 10 powerplays against both North Iowa and Owatonna on the weekend.

The Bobcats take on the North Iowa Outlaws again next Friday in Mason City, Iowa. You can watch the game online through the B2 Networks and listen to it on Super Talk 1270AM. "The Dvorak Motors Pre-Game Show" starts tonight at 7:00pm CST with the "Voice of the Bobcats" Skip Berry.
