OSWEGO, N.Y. - Ryan Bourque (Boxford, Mass.) scored just 12 seconds into overtime as the U.S. National Under-18 Team defeated Oswego State, 4-3, here tonight at the Campus Center.
After going down 2-0 in the first frame, Team USA answered back with a late-period goal by Jeremy Morin (Auburn, N.Y.). Morin's goal came after he picked up the puck from behind the net, skated out to the front and lifted a shot over netminder Chris Hyk with just 1:17 to play.
John Henrion (Holden, Mass.) tied the game, 2-2, when he buried a rebound off of a Cam Fowler (Farmington Hills, Mich.) shot at 12:15 in the second period.
The Lakers took back the lead after Ryan Ellis tallied an unassisted goal at 7:26 of the third frame. Team USA tied the score, 3-3, after Fowler skated from his own end, through the Laker defense and beat Hyk low-stick side with 2:35 left in regulation.
Bourque's goal came just 12 seconds into overtime after he fired a shot on net, picked up his own rebound and put it in to give the U.S. a 4-3 victory. A.J. Treais (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) picked up the lone assist on the play.
