
Toros Reacquire Mohamed Abukar

AUSTIN, TX (December 26, 2008) - The Toros announced several roster moves effective today. Mohamed Abukar was reacquired after being waived during training camp due to injury. Abukar, a 6-9, 229 pound forward from San Diego State was the second pick for the Toros during the 2008 NBA D-League draft. Abukar played 10 games in the Italian league during the 2007-08 season averaging 6.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Brian Morrison, a 6-2, 192 pound point guard played five games at the start of the season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Morrison (UCLA) averaged 5.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 22 games with the Los Angeles D-Fenders last season. Morrison replaces Tack Minor who was released.
The Spurs announced earlier today the assignment of Malik Hairston to the Toros. Hairston averaged 19.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 11 games with the Toros prior to his GATORADE Call-Up last week.
The Toros have two remaining home games at the Austin Convention Center in December, today Friday 12/26 against the Tulsa 66ers and Saturday, 12/27 against the Los Angeles D-Fenders, both games start at 7:30 p.m.
