14ers Rally Past the Flash

December 26, 2008 - NBA G League (G League)
Colorado 14ers News Release

DENVER - December 26, 2008 - Eddie Gill drained a 10 foot jumper with 0.2 seconds remaining to give the Colorado 14ers a 105-103 win over the Utah Flash at the Broomfield Event Center Friday night. Colorado rallied from an eight point fourth quarter deficit to move to 7-3 on the season, while Utah falls to 5-6.

With 25.2 seconds remaining and the game tied at 103, Boston Celtics assigned player Bill Walker was called for an offensive foul when he hooked Trey Gilder on the baseline. Colorado got the ball back and Gill dribbled the shot clock down to four seconds before driving to his right on Dontell Jefferson. He floated a 10 footer over the top of the Utah defense that bounced around the rim three times before falling with only 0.2 left on the clock.

"We got a couple bounces in the fourth quarter that we didn't get the rest of the game," said 14ers head coach Bob MacKinnon. "Coach Casey Owens and I were talking about, and we kept saying that if we just hang in there we'll get a couple stops and get this rolling."

Josh Davis led the 14ers with 18 points, while Dominique Coleman added 16 with 11 rebounds and four steals on the night. In addition to hitting the game-winner, Gill posted 15 points and eight assists in the victory.

Utah was led by Gavin Grant's 22 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Walker added 19 and Brian Jackson had 18 in the loss for the Flash.

The 14ers now travel to Tulsa for a Sunday matinee with the 66ers at the SpiritBank Event Center. Utah visits the Iowa Energy on Sunday.
