Toronto Rock News Release
Toronto, ON â On Tuesday December 14, 2004, the National Lacrosse League announced the removal of the Vancouver Ravens from the 2005 regular season schedule. As a result, a dispersal draft of Vancouver's players was scheduled to take place on Wednesday December 15, 2004.
Each of the Leagues' remaining 10 member clubs selected players from Vancouver's roster of league veterans. Available players included forward Craig Conn, who had a strong rookie season in 2004, and veteran forward Curt Malawsky, who has averaged nearly two goals per game over his seven seasons in the league.
In the first round, the Rock traded their 6th overall pick to the Minnesota Swarm. In exchange, they received Minnesota's 2nd round draft pick in the 2005 Entry Draft. The Rock waived their second round pick in the draft.
The Toronto Rock open the 2005 season against the Buffalo Bandits on Friday January 7, 2005 at 7:30pm at the HSBC Arena. Bus trip tickets are now available thorough the Rock offices by calling (416) 506 3075 ext. 226. Tickets are just $55.00 (CDN) and bookings must be made by December 29, 2004.
