Toronto FC Sign Mehdi Essoussi to a Short-Term Agreement

Toronto FC has signed midfielder Mehdi Essoussi to a short-term loan agreement from Toronto FC II, the club announced today.
Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign a player on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
Essoussi, 21, has made 23 appearances in three seasons for Toronto FC II (2019, 2021, 2022). He made his professional debut with the Young Reds as a substitute against Lansing Ignite on June 19, 2019. He originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in January 2017.
