Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC open a three-game road trip on Sunday when they travel to Dignity Health Sports Park to face the LA Galaxy at 7 p.m. CT. The match will air live in English on AT&T SportsNet and in Spanish on TeleXitos 47.2.
Houston closed a three-game homestand with a 2-1-0 (WLD) record after they fell 1-0 to Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday at PNC Stadium. The Dynamo played with 10 men for nearly 40 minutes after midfielder Adalberto "Coco" Carrasquilla received his second yellow card of the game for a foul near midfield. The Panamanian international will miss the game on Sunday and be eligible for Houston's match against Real Salt Lake on May 28.
Houston finished with 14 shots against the Sounders and the Seattle backline limited the Dynamo by combining for seven blocks and saves. The Dynamo offense was held scoreless at home for the first time since a 0-0 draw with the Portland Timbers on April 16. Houston averages a goal per game on the road and Sunday will be only the fifth match for the Dynamo away from PNC Stadium.
The Galaxy won the series in 2021 after they earned a 3-0 victory over the Dynamo at PNC Stadium on Oct. 20. Houston played the Galaxy to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting of the year in Southern California on Sept. 15. The all-time series is currently tied at 12-12-10 and Houston holds a 4-6-5 record on the road against the Galaxy.
The Galaxy return to Southern California with a point after their 1-1 draw with Minnesota United on Wednesday. The Galaxy split a pair of games against FC Dallas and Austin FC prior to the match with Minnesota and hold a 2-1-1 record in May across all competitions. Like the Dynamo, the Galaxy will play seven games between the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and regular season in May.
The Dynamo will remain on the road as they travel to Kansas on Wednesday to face Sporting Kansas City in Round 16 of the U.S. Open Cup. The three-game road trip ends on Saturday when the Dynamo face Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium at 8:30 p.m. CT.

Here are three key points ahead of Sunday's match:
THREE-GAME ROAD TRIP BEGINS IN CALIFORNIA: The Dynamo will embark on a 5,000 mile journey this weekend that will take them to three states in the next seven days to face the LA Galaxy, Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake. The road trip begins with Sunday's league match against the Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Southern California. This is the first meeting between these teams this season. Houston will travel midweek to Children's Mercy Park in Kansas to face Sporting Kansas City in Round 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The three-game road trip ends next Saturday when the Dynamo face Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah. This is the largest road trip of the season for the team, with the second longest trip coming later this summer when Houston travels nearly 3,000 miles to face the Philadelphia Union and Vancouver Whitecaps FC in late July and the beginning of August.
DEFENDERS RETURN TO THE BACKLINE: The Dynamo backline will have additional options on Sunday with the return of defenders Teenage Hadebe and Adam Lundkvist. Both players missed the match on Wednesday due to a one-game suspension following Houston's 2-0 victory over Nashville on May 14. Hadebe currently leads the team with 16 interceptions and 48 clearances. Lundkvist leads the backline with 42 duels won and 54 recoveries this season. Offensively, Lundkvist leads the team with three assists and Hadebe scored the third goal in Houston's 4-3 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on April 9.
GALAXY OPEN FOUR-GAME HOMESTAND: The Galaxy will host their cross-town rival and a pair of Texas MLS clubs for a three-game homestand prior to the FIFA break in June. The homestand starts on Sunday against the Dynamo and three days later the Galaxy will host Los Angeles FC in the Round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Galaxy host Austin FC prior to the upcoming FIFA break. Los Angeles will return to league play on June 18 when they host the Portland Timbers for their second meeting of the regular season.
