Toronto FC News Release
Toronto FC announced Friday they have signed Argentine midfielder Martin Saric. Saric was signed as a free agent after spending much of the pre-season with the club. As per league and team rules, financial details were not released.
"He's going to add a bit of steel to our midfield," said manager, director of soccer Mo Johnston. "He's a very good player, has a great understanding of the game and works very hard. Saric brings a wealth of experience with him and will be a great compliment to what we already have in the midfield. We're excited to have him on board."
Saric, 30 was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina but carries a Croatian passport. The midfielder has spent the majority of his career playing in Romania, but spent last season at Slovenian club NK Celje.
Saric will be available for selection for the team's season opener on Saturday, March 27 in Columbus. Fans will be able to watch the game on GOLTV beginning at 4p.m. ET and heard on The FAN 590.
