COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, March 26, 2010) - Fans coming to the Colorado Rapids' 2010 home opener on Saturday, April 3 at 2 p.m. vs. the Chicago Fire will be treated to a special halftime performance by Denver's own national recording artists, The Flobots.

Flobots are an alternative rap/rock band from Denver, Colorado founded in 2005. Comprised of Jonny 5 (vocals), Brer Rabbit (vocals), Mackenzie Roberts (viola/vocals), Jessie Walker (bass), Andy Guerrero (guitar) and Kenny Ortiz (drums), the band became popular in 2008 when their singles "Handlebars" and "Rise" became hits on American alternative rock radio.

Rapids fans will remember the Flobots' song "Rise" from when the team adopted the song for their late season push during the 2008 season, mixing it in with music videos as part of the club's in-stadium entertainment.

March 2010 saw the release of the Flobots' sophomore studio effort, Survival Story, which demonstrates a heavier rock edge.

The Flobots' halftime performance on April 3 will be free to all fans holding a ticket to Rapids Opening Day.

Tickets for the Rapids' home opener and Flobots' halftime performance start at just $16 and are available for purchase at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park Box Office, via phone by calling 303-53-HORSE, at the kiosks at any Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods location, or online at TicketHorse.com.
