Chicago Fire FC News Release

CHICAGO, IL - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club today unveiled the re-launch of the club's official website www.Chicago-Fire.com. The revamped site, built in conjunction with New York digital media consultancy Rocket Fuel, will house all of the Fire's digital content, from video and photos to blogs and player profiles, and boost fans' behind the scenes access to the club, while providing access to information on both the local soccer community and international clubs.

"Today the club is entering a new era in our digital strategy," said Dave Greeley, President of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. "Chicago-Fire.com will serve as the one-stop shop for the Fire and everything soccer that our fans and lovers of the game would demand in terms of content and an interactive soccer experience."

Chicago-Fire.com will serve as a re-launch of the Fire's digital ecosystem. The retooled digital strategy will bring the club's Internet rights and management in-house, giving the Fire complete control and authority over editorial content along with offering significant revenue opportunities through the sale of digital inventory and local advertising.

Editorial independence and the variety of editorial voices on Chicago-Fire.com will allow for a much richer online experience. The website will act as an all-encompassing source for soccer in the Chicagoland area and worldwide, producing content in English and Spanish that will cover the Fire, in addition to world soccer and local amateur teams.

Fans can expect exclusive and behind-the-scenes content including video interviews with players, guest blogs with players and coaches, independent blogging voices, podcasts, live audio game casts, photo galleries and other interactive tools. Fans will also be able to post their own blog posts and interact with one another live on all of their favorite Fire and soccer topics.

Featuring a new HD Video player, built with the aid of NeuLion Inc. and Microsoft's Silverlight technology, Chicago-Fire.com provides a high-quality online game viewing experience. Near-real-time highlights, condensed games and video on demand will allow Fire fans an opportunity to see each game of the Fire's 2010 season online.

Chicago-Fire.com will be a fully interactive digital platform, integrating social media tools such as Twitter, Flickr and Facebook directly into the website. Fans watching the live stream of Fire games online will have the ability to provide live commentary as well as keep up with all of the game statistics on the improved MatchTracker.

While the new site will enjoy streamlined interactive tools and new, daily content, it will also be a work in progress as the Fire will continue to make several upgrades and tweaks as needed, while adding new features suggested by fans in the coming weeks and months. Fans can submit suggestions to the Fire at suggestions@chicago-fire.com.

The Fire's First Kick of the 2010 season is this Saturday, March 27th, when they take on the New York Red Bulls in the brand new Red Bulls stadium. The match will be broadcast on ESPN (6 PM CT). The Fire host Opening Night at TOYOTA PARK on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 PM CT. Tickets are available online at www.Chicago-Fire.com or by calling 1-888-MLS-FIRE (657-3473).
