Toronto Downs San Antonio 5-3

Toronto Marlies News Release


The Toronto Marlies defeated the San Antonio Rampage, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, by a score of 5-3 tonight from the AT&T Center.

Jon Rheault opened the scoring for the Rampage just over three minutes into the opening period. San Antonio would double their lead just past the midway point of the opening frame on a goal from Jean-Francois Jacques. Both teams recorded 8 shots in the first period. Leo Komarov would record the Marlies first goal of the night at 9:57 of the second period. Andre Deveaux and Joe Colborne would also register goals for their respective teams in the middle frame. Toronto outshot San Antonio 14-9 in the second period. Greg Scott equalized for Toronto less than one minute into the final period. After killing off a penalty in the second half of the period, Nazem Kadri recorded his first goal of the year, which turned out to be the eventual game winner. Jerry D'Amigo added an empty net goal to secure the win for Toronto.

The Marlies will play their sixth of eight consecutive road games on Tuesday morning from Oklahoma City. Puck drop is set for 11:35am eastern.
