BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators took and held an early lead this evening against the Norfolk Admirals and came away with a 4-2 victory after six straight games on the road. Shots on goal favored Norfolk, 33-27.

The B-Sens posted three goals in the first while holding Norfolk scoreless. Corey Cowick netted Binghamton's first goal at 3:11 with an assist from Pat Cannone, and minutes later at 7:26, the B-Sens capitalized on a power play chance. Andre Petersson netted the puck with help from Mika Zibanejad and Jakob Silfverberg. The opening period concluded with captain Andre Benoit potting Binghamton's third unanswered goal of the game. Cowick and Silfverberg tallied the assists.

The second period began with a goaltending change for the Admirals as Frederik Andersen replaced starter Igor Bobkov. At 3:15 into the frame, the B-Sens scored their league-leading fifth shorthanded goal of the season off the stick of Derek Grant, assisted by David Dziurzynski and Frederik Claesson. The Admirals managed to get on the board before the period's end on a power play goal scored by Patrick Maroon.

The B-Sens held a three-goal advantage heading into the final period of play until 10:05 when Norfolk's Brandon McMillan closed the gap to two. Hampus Lindholm and Mat Clark were credited with the assists. However, Norfolk's effort wasn't enough as Binghamton held on for the 4-2 victory.

Robin Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens this evening and stopped 31 of Norfolk's 33 shots to earn his fifth win of the season. Bobkov allowed three of Binghamton's 15 first period shots while Andersen stopped 11 of 12 shots throughout the remainder of the game.
