
Toronto Defeats St. John's 5-4

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, by a score of 5-4 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Marlies would register a season high five goals in the second period. Kenny Ryan, Will Acton, Jake Gardiner (PPG) and Jerry D'Amigo would record unanswered goals for Toronto before Kael Mouillierat notched his 6th tally of the season for the IceCaps at 18:42. Carter Ashton would give the Marlies a 5-1 lead at 19:23. The IceCaps would make a push to tie the game in the second half of the third period with Ben Maxwell, Patrice Cormier and Spencer Machacek scoring in a span of just over seven minutes. St. John's was unable to tie the game late in regulation.
Toronto returns to the ice on Wednesday night when they host the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
