Pirates Sign Eric Baier to Professional Tryout Contract

Portland, Maine - Phoenix Coyotes Assistant General Manager and Portland Pirates General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the Portland Pirates have signed defenseman Eric Baier to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

The 6-foot-2, 210 pound Baier had been with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL. In 48 games for Trenton this season, the 24 year old native of Summit, NJ registering 2 goals and 9 assists as well as 16 penalty minutes. Baier has spent parts of 3 seasons in the AHL, including 3 games with the Portland Pirates in 2010-11, and most recently saw time with the Providence Bruins this season.
