In their second meeting in as many nights, the Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs by a score of 6-1 this afternoon from Ricoh Coliseum.
Leo Komarov gave Toronto a 1-0 lead on the powerplay just over four minutes into the first period. The Marlies would double their lead at 12:50 of the opening frame when Mark Fraser scored on a cross ice pass from Ryan Hamilton. Nicolas Deschamps and Keith Aucoin also notched goals in the first period, giving the Marlies a 4-0 lead heading into the middle frame. Toronto outshot Hamilton 10-3 in the opening period. Keith Aucoin's second goal of the game was the lone tally of the middle period, giving Toronto a 5-0 lead heading into the final frame. Toronto outshot Hamilton 7-5 in the second period. The third period would see Aaron Palushaj score shorthanded just over two minutes in, before Mike Kostka tallied his third goal of the season, making it 6-1 for Toronto.
The Marlies will play their third game in as many days tomorrow afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum against the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
