Toronto Argonauts News Release
Toronto - The Toronto Argonauts' 2014 schedule will offer fans an exciting home schedule highlighted by more weekend games and an action-packed Fall during the crucial CFL playoff run!
The Argos will play eight regular season home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, all of which include a good combination of both prime time and family-friendly kickoff times at Rogers Centre. Games will be balanced throughout the Summer months as fans prepare for the thrill of live, hard hitting football that will feature even more East Division rivalry match-ups as the CFL officially welcomes the Ottawa REDBLACKS! Argonauts fans will be thrilled to know that their team will revisit their historic roots as they return to the hallowed grounds at Varsity Stadium for their home pre-season game against rival Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
A potent offence helped power the Toronto Argonauts to the top of the East Division standings last season. Led by reigning East Division Most Outstanding Player, QB Ricky Ray, the high powered unit put up more than 500 points for the first time in over a decade. Fans will get their first glimpse of this year's offence live at the 2014 Home Opener on Saturday, July 5 when the Double Blue welcome the reigning Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Double Blue supporters can be part of history twice this year on the road. A special fan train will leave Toronto for the inaugural game in our nation's capital where the Argos will take on the REDBLACKS on July 18. Then, the Labour Day Classic is back in Hamilton on September 1 as two storied foes renew their rivalry at the new Tim Hortons Field. More details for both games, and how fans can be involved, are available by calling 416-341-2746 (ARGO).
