Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are proud to announce their longstanding partnership with McMaster University will expand this year, with Ron Joyce Stadium hosting training camp and the Ticats home pre-season game on Saturday, June 14.
"This unique event at Ron Joyce Stadium offers an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our fans to see the team play in an incredibly intimate 6,000-seat venue in Hamilton. This game will also boast a very fan-friendly environment, including autograph sessions with players, prizes and more," Ticats President and Chief Operating Officer Gibson commented.
Gibson continued, "With Tim Hortons Field set to be completed on June 30th, we have been searching for an alternative venue to host our pre-season game this season. After being presented with several opportunities, we are pleased that this game will take place in Hamilton."
Fans who attend the pre-season game will also receive an invitation to VIP Open House at Tim Hortons Field - an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of Hamilton's new stadium before the home opener.
Because the demand for tickets is expected to outweigh the capacity at Ron Joyce Stadium, and to ensure all Ticats season seat holders have an equal opportunity to attend the game, tickets for the pre-season game will be available to season seat holders via lottery.
Interested season seat holders are encouraged to contact their account representative or e-mail macpreseason@ticats.ca by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7 to enter the lottery . Tickets will be available on an individual basis at all existing season seat holder price points. Additional details about ticketing, including the results of the lottery, will be announced in March.
Season seat holders' 2014 10-game package will include nine regular season games and a playoff game at Tim Hortons Field. If the team not host a playoff game this year, season seat holders will receive a credit toward their 2015 ticket package.
"We're thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with the Tiger-Cats by once again proudly hosting their training camp, and for this year, being their home venue for the June 14th pre-season game," stated Jeff Giles, McMaster's Director of Athletics and Recreation. "This event, like the relationship between McMaster and the Ticats, is great for football in the city of Hamilton."
