WORCESTER, MA- The Tornadoes had the big inning tonight in the seventh when they scored eight runs and won the game 10-3 against the New Haven County Cutters at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.

Alex Pena labored in the beginning as he walked four batters in the first three innings.

The Tornadoes were able to turn double plays in each of the first two innings. The Cutters Jeremy Terni had an RBI double that scored Marcus Nettles in the third inning to get the first runs on the board.

Alex Pena left the game in the sixth inning due to an injury and Jamie Merchant came on in relief. The Tornadoes finally got on the board in the seventh inning when Chris Colabello started off the inning with a double. Second baseman Jeff LaHair had a 2RBI single, scoring Colabello and Jabe Bergeron who reached base on a hit. Keith Beauregard had an RBI single that scored Onix Mercado who reached base on a walk. Josh Beauregard and Rios both had RBI singles in the eighth. Colabello was a home run away from the cycle.

The Cutters posted one in the ninth as Vroman scored on a wild pitch off Dallas Mahan but were unable to break a dent in the Tornadoes offensive power of the night.
