The Capitales got plenty of scoring late in the game to keep up their good play of late as well as their lead in the Can-Am League. Quebec C Olivier Lepine had a good night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs batted in while 3B Eddie Lantigua was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run driven in. The win for Quebec runs its winning streak to six games and the Capitales have now won eight of their last 11 games. Quebec stole seven bases in eight attempts in the game, led by T.J. Shimizu who stole two, giving him seven on the year.

North Shore 3, Nashua 1

North Shore got a great start from left-hander Joey Siak, who allowed just one run, unearned, on five hits through 7 2/3 innings pitched and struck out four en route to notching his third win of the season. With the victory, the Spirit stay within two games of the Quebec Capitales for first place in the Can-Am League. SS Chris Rowan had a good night at the plate, going 1-for-3, including a solo home run, bringing his total to seven on the year. CF B.J. Weed was 3-for-4 on the night with two runs scored. Nashua LF Bryan Duplissie was the only player on his team to record more than one hit in the loss. He was 2-for-3.

The Skyhawks DH Scott Grimes had a big night offensively, going 2-for-3, including his second home run of the year, with two runs scored and two runs batted in to help power his team past Brockton. Starting pitcher Jose Correra was the beneficiary of such an offensive output and notched his sixth victory of the season. He allowed five runs, all earned, on 12 hits while striking out six in six innings of work. With the win, Correra is now tied for the second highest win total in the Can-Am League.

Worcester starting pitcher Alex Pena pitched well despite not factoring in the decision, going 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, both earned, on seven hits while striking out four. After his exit in the seventh inning Worcester posted eight runs in the bottom half and two more in the eighth to jump out to an insurmountable lead. Jamie Merchant took over for Pena and didn't allow a run in 1 2/3 innings of work to pick up the victory, his third of the season. 3B Brian Rios led the Tornadoes at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and four runs batted in.
