July 24, 2006 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Jersey Jackals News Release
MONTCLAIR, NJ (July, 2006) As the balmy days of August roll in and the Can-Am League season hits its halfway point, the New Jersey Jackals look to cement their place as the team to beat in the Garden State. The Sussex Skyhawks are the newest addition to the league, and they play at Skylands Park in Augusta. Their arrival has created a great dynamic within the league-as well as a bit of friendly competition; in their last meeting, the Jackals outscored the Skyhawks 30-2.
"It's a great opportunity for us to have a team like the Skyhawks in such close proximity," said Director of Group Sales, Brooke Kenna. "We are looking forward to the upcoming games and of course, we're encouraging our Jackals fans to come out and show their support especially when Sussex is in town."
The two teams will face off again at Yogi Berra Stadium on Wednesday, August 2 at 12:05 p.m. In addition, local New York Yankees fans will have another reason to come out, as the YES Network will be filming an episode of the award-winning series, "The Ultimate Road Show". The Skyhawks return to Montclair on August 8, 9 and 10, all 7:05pm games. Promotions for these games include Two for Tuesday (buy two tickets for the price of one), 8 Minute Dating and a 30% off merchandise sale on the 9th and a golf towel giveaway for the first 1000 fans on Thursday, courtesy of Air-Chek Window Depot.
As part of the independent Can-Am league, the Jackals will host 46 exciting games against the Brockton Rox, Nashua Pride, New Haven Cutters, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Québec, Worcester Tornadoes and new rivals, the Sussex Skyhawks. Standard game times are 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2:05 p.m. on Sundays.

The Jackals play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium, located on the grounds of Montclair State University. Yogi Berra Stadium opened in 1998 as the first top-of-the-line stadium in the Can-Am League. The stadium, which is flanked by the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center on its first-base side, has quickly earned the reputation as the home of champions as the Jackals have won four championship titles in eight years.
