
Tornadoes take three of four from Jackals, drop final game

WORCESTER, MA- The Tornadoes dropped the final game of the series 6-3 to the New Jersey Jackals on a warm Sunday afternoon at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
The Jackals scored put up the first runs on the board when Joe Mihalics scored on an RBI by Alex Fernandez. The Tornadoes answered in the fourth inning with three runs as Jabe Bergeron had an two run RBI double that scored Brian Rios and Chris Colabello who each reached base on singles.
The Jackals tied the game up in the fifth with a two run double by Guillermo Reyes that scored Clay Kuklick, who reached base on a walk, and Zach Smithlin. They would then tack on three runs in the seventh on a three run homer by Wilton Veras.
Mike Meagher took the loss and Jackals Joel Bennett picked up his fifth win of the season.
The Tornadoes have an off day tomorrow and then will travel to New Haven for a three game series. They will be back at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field on Tuesday, August 8th @ 7:05 PM as they take on the Nashua Pride.
