(Ramapo, NY, May 27) - The Worcester Tornadoes salvaged the finale of this weekend's three-game set, grabbing an early lead and cruised for a 9-3 victory. The Boulders won the previous two games by identical 6-4 scores and finished their first homestand of the season with a 3-3 record.

Worcester jumped in front with four in the third on four hits off Bobby Blevins, aided by a costly error. With one out and the bases loaded, Ryan Mollica couldn't come up with a potential inning-ending double-play ball and the Tornadoes took full advantage, as three of their tallies were unearned.

Rockland got one back in the fourth on Keith Brachold's team-leading third homer of the season, a solo shot deep to right-center. They took back another in the sixth when Ryan Scoma lined a single and advanced to second on right fielder Cameron Monger's error. That would prove costly when Norm Hutchins' two-out single brought Scoma in.

They trimmed the deficit to one in the seventh when newly-acquired Chris Valencia worked out a walk off reliever Michael Gedman and came around on Cole Kraft's two-out double to make the score 4-3. Worcester would add an insurance run in the eight when Jose Canseco led off with a single, Alex Trezza followed with a double, and Nick Salotti singled, all off reliever Nicolas Blanco to extend the lead back to 6-3. They added three more in the ninth off Andy Suiter and Dan Jurik to put the game out of reach.

Bobby Blevins was tagged with the loss for Rockland while Dan Sausville took home the win for Worcester.

After a day off on Monday, the Boulders embark on a three-game trip to New Jersey to face the Jackals before returning to Provident Bank Park to host the defending Can-Am League champ Quebec Capitales from June 1-3.
