August 7, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Worcester Tornadoes News Release
Worcester, MA -- The game between the Worcester Tornadoes and Atlantic City Surf scheduled for Thursday night, August 7, has been postponed due to heavy rain and unplayable field conditions. Picnics scheduled for the night will go on as planned.
The game will be made up next week at Atlantic City as part of a doubleheader, on a day and time to be determined. Game Two will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game One. Both games will be seven-inning affairs. The rainout is the sixth of the season for Worcester. The Tornadoes have also had three games suspended due to inclement weather. The Tornadoes will welcome the Quebec Capitales to town tomorrow for Game One of a four-game series at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field to conclude the homestand. RHP Matt Weagle, Thursday night's scheduled starter, will now take the mound on Friday night and he will be opposed by Quebec LHP Kevin Beavers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
