The Sussex Skyhawks scored five huge runs in the top of the sixth inning to overcome a 5-2 deficit and beat the Ottawa Rapidz. With the win, Sussex takes three out of four in the series. 2B Chris Brown was the leader offensively for the Skyhawks going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a run batted in. Sussex LF Alex Frazier chipped in with a 1-for-4 day which included a two-run home run in the second inning. Skyhawks' starter Craig Snipp evened his record at 5-5 on the year with a six inning performance in which he allowed five earned runs on nine hits with five walks and three strikeouts. For the Rapidz in defeat, LF Jereme Milons went 2-for-5 and scored a pair of runs.

Quebec 5, Brockton 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In game one of a doubleheader, Quebec C Greg Stevens and CF Goef Tomlinson each hit two-run homers to lead the Capitales over Brockton 5-0. Quebec starter TJ Stanton gave up just two hits and struck out four in 5 2/3 innings to get the win. Ivan Blanco recorded the final four outs for his second save of the year. Stevens finished the game 2-for-3 as did Quebec SS Jose Contreras and RF Mike Goss.

Quebec 4, Brockton 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Quebec scored three runs off three hits in the fifth inning including an RBI double by 3B Pat Deschenes to sweep the twin bill 4-2. SS Jose Contreras carried over his hot hitting from the first game and went 3-for-3 in game two with a walk and an RBI. John Kelly allowed all four Capitales runs and took the loss for Brockton. He's now 6-5 on the season. Karl Gelinas, one of three pitchers used by Quebec in the contest, pitched four innings and got the win.

New Jersey 6, Nashua 2

HR: None

Five singles and two bases loaded walks helped New Jersey score five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and beat Nashua 6-2. SS Bryant Nelson had a big game for the Jackals as he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. CF Zach Smithlin also played a big part in the win with a 2-for-4 effort including a double that drove in two. New Jersey starter Isaac Pavlik shutout the Pride for eight innings in which he scattered six hits and struck out five. His record now stands at 7-4. Nashua DH Bryan Duplissie finished 3-for-4 in a losing effort.

Atlantic City vs Worcester (Postponed - Rain)

@ Worcester, MA

The game between Atlantic City and Worcester was postponed due to rain. It will made up as part of doubleheader (two seven inning games) on Tuesday August 12th. Both games with be seven inning games.
