WORCESTER, Mass. - Ryan Bicondoa struck out eight Boulders batters and Alex Trezza homered in a 6-2 Tornadoes victory at the HIP on Tuesday night. Worcester trailed 1-0 after the top of the fourth because of Barry Wesson's solo homerun, but Trezza's two-run shot in the bottom half gave the Tornadoes the lead for good.

Abraham Nunez doubled Alex Nunez home the next inning, and Worcester sent eight men to the plate in the seventh, scoring three more times. Mark Minicozzi walked with the bases loaded, scoring Cam Monger. Nick Salotti knocked both Alex Nunez and Chris Colabello in on a single.

The Rockland ballclub added another run in the ninth off of Albert Ayala, but Tony Patane's diving stop and flip to Abraham Nunez's bare hand started a game-ending 6-4-3 double play.

Bicondoa (7-1) finished his night with eight innings pitched and eight strikeouts. He walked one batter, allowed six hits and gave up only Wesson's homer for a run. Ayala struck out one batter and surrendered one run on two hits in his inning of work.

Ryan Knippschild was issued the loss in his first appearance against the Tornadoes in 2011. He struck out three batters and walked two (one intentionally) in 6.1 frames, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits. He left with the bases loaded, just as Minicozzi came to the plate in the seventh.

Worcester has one remaining game against the Boulders on Wednesday night at 7:05, which is the last home game of the regular season.
