Pittsfield Colonials News Release
PITTSFIELD, MA - With one week to go in the Can-Am League playoff race, the Pittsfield Colonials close out their regular season at home this weekend with a major series against the new York Federals.
Pittsfield enters play on Tuesday night with a magic number of five to clinch a second consecutive berth in the Can-Am League's second season. Any combination of five Colonials wins or Brockton Rox losses will guarantee Pittsfield a postseason spot.
Friday against the Federals is Fan Appreciation Day and the Colonials will celebrate with a doubleheader against New York beginning at 5 p.m. Two seven-inning games will be played. Giveaways as well as recognition of the Colonials' Fan of the Year are on the docket for the evening. Certificates will also be given to fans who attended 80% or more of Pittsfield's home games on the season.
Pittsfield will cap their regular season with a single game on Saturday night against the Federals at 7 p.m.
All remaining games; road, home, regular season and playoffs can be heard on the Colonials' flagship station, 89.7 WTBR FM. The pregame show will begin 20 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
