Colonials' Season Comes To A Close

LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The Pittsfield Colonials saw their season come to a close on Saturday night with an 8-1 loss to the New Jersey Jackals.
The Jackals will now face the Quebec Capitales in the Can-Am League Championship Series starting on Tuesday in New Jersey.
After both teams had threats turned aside in the first inning, the Jackals pulled through in the second as Bryan Sabatella drove a bases loaded double to the wall in rightfield to clear the bases and plate three runs. Four more runs came in during the third inning on five hits to put NJ up 7-0.
The Jackals would tack on a run in the fifth to extend the lead to eight runs. Pittsfield tallied their lone run of the night in the sixth on a Peter Fatse single to drive home Angel Molina.
Jon Kibler (1-0) earned the win for New Jersey, tossing six innings, allowing one run. David Qualben (0-1) took the loss for Pittsfield. Coming out of the bullpen for the Colonials, Miguel Flores struck out seven in four innings.
