Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Omaha scored four runs in the seventh inning as the Albuquerque Isotopes fell at home, 9-3 in front of 12,130 fans on Saturday night at Isotopes Park.
The loss at home was only the second in their past 12 for the Isotopes, who are now 38-28 at Isotopes Park. The âTopes carried a 2-0 into the seventh as starter Justin Wayne held the Royals scoreless on three hits. Wayne ran into his first jam in the seventh giving up three hits and a walk before being replaced by Juan Alvarez with the bases loaded and the Isotopes leading 2-1. Alvarez walked in the tying and go-ahead runs as Omaha took their first lead of the game.
The Royals continued to score on Alvarez in the eighth, as Jarrod Patterson and Brandon Berger hit back-to-back homers for a 7-2 lead. Wayne fell to 4-10 with the loss, only Albuquerque's eighth when leading after sixth innings (50-8).
Albuquerque took the early lead in the third as Kevin Hooper drove in Paul Hoover with an RBI single. Hooper made the score 2-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Abraham Nunez added two hits for Albuquerque in the loss.
The Isotopes (67-61) dropped a game in the Central Division and lead Colorado Springs by two games. The âTopes and Royals play game three of four tomorrow night, beginning at 6:05 PM. Aaron Small will make the start.
