Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- NASCAR Winston Cup points champion Tony Stewart will drop the first puck and sign autographs for select fans when the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks play the Chicago Wolves Saturday, January 18 at 7:35 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Stewart, who won the Winston Cup championship with an 18th-place finish in the Ford 400, will also spend the evening participating in events between periods. In addition, the first 3,200 fans will receive a Tony Stewart bobblehead.
Stewart, NASCAR's Rookie of the Year in 1999, last won a championship in 1997 in the Indy Racing League. The Columbus, Indiana native finished fourth in the points as a Winston Cup rookie, sixth the next year, and second to Jeff Gordon in 2001.
The appearance of Stewart, who drives the No. 20 orange-and-white Home Depot Pontiac, will mark the second consecutive year he has helped the Mighty Ducks celebrate NASCAR Night.
