Peoria Rivermen News Release

On Monday the East Coast Hockey League announced that Rivermen forward Greg Day won the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week award for January 6-12.

The 25-year-old St. Clair Beach, Ontario native scored six points (3 goals, 3 assists) and was a +6 in three weekend games for the Rivermen. His efforts helped Peoria go 3-0 and increase their winning streak to a league best six games.

The first year pro has registered seven goals and 14 points and is tied for second on the team with three game winning goals. He amassed these numbers in only 18 games due a knee injury that kept him on the injured reserve list for all of December.

Peoria's next home game is set for January 17th when the Johnstown Chiefs come to town for a two game series. On Friday the 17th Spiderman will make an appearance during the hockey game and sign autographs. Saturday January 18th is Rivermen Checkbook Cover Night courtesy of the Central Illinois Chapter of Credit Unions. The first 2500 fans in the door get one! Don't miss out!
